Lick the Spoon Launches Black Jack Street Rubble!

When the Gas board announced they were digging up historic Black Jack Street for two months chocolatier Lick the Spoon realised they could turn the situation to their advantage if they acted quickly. A few days later, some experimentation in their chocolate kitchen and some rapid packaging design a new product was born - “Black Jack Rubble”!.

Black Jack Rubble Chocolate

With vibrant traffic cone packaging Black Jack rubble is made of pretzels, raisins almonds and honeycomb pieces rolled in single origin milk and dark chocolate to resemble rubble. Lick the Spoon’s founder and creative director Diana Short said “we’re really hoping it will catch the moment and bring a smile to people's faces.”

Lick the Spoon will be giving a pack of the rubble away to all customers that spend over £10 or for souvenir hunters it can be purchased for £2-99.

Diana added “There’s a real can do attitude amongst the Black Jack street independent shops and we’re hoping that more people will discover this hidden gem in the heart of Cirencester”.

Since starting their business in December 2006 Lick the Spoon have gained a reputation as one of the finest artisan chocolatiers in the UK. In 2010 they were named as the Best of Chocolate throughout the South-West at the Taste of the West awards and more recently were chosen by Dragon’s Den’s Theo Paphitis as his small business Sunday selection.

Lick the Spoon Launches 2011 Easter Egg Collection

28th February 2011 – Immediate Release

Award Winning Cotswold Chocolatier “Lick the Spoon” have launched their 2011 Chocolate Easter egg collection.

The collection follows on from their Christmas sell-out Penguin Snow globe with an Easter Chick in a globe sat on a nest with mini-eggs. Other fun products include the new ‘Egg and Spoons’ and ‘Egg and Chips’. The spoons are based on Lick the Spoon’s best selling Lickable Spoons and feature a soft caramel mini egg on a spoon. The ‘Egg and Chips’ contains chips made of their award winning Sea Salt pralines.

Company founder Diana Short said “We are delighted with our new collection and have great fun coming up with new ideas, the challenge is usually how to package the ideas”. Lick the Spoon have also brought back their famous Mint Filigree egg chosen by celebrities Nigella Lawson and Alan Titchmarsh as their favourites.

Lick the Spoon pride themselves on the quality of the chocolate they use and the resulting taste as well as the visual creativity. “Every one of our Easter chicks is unique” explained Diana, “some have glasses, some have fluttering eye lashes, each one is different in some way”.

Another exotic creation is the ‘Dragon Tea Egg’. Inspired by the traditional Chinese tea egg it is infused with the scents of exotic spices and is accompanied by a beautiful set of tea infused chocolate thins. The teas are supplied by the Sherston Tea company including their Dragon Tea.

Last year Lick the Spoon’s Easter collection was one of bestsellers in luxury London store Liberty and this year an even bigger Easter order has been placed. Harvey Nichols are also stocking the Easter Eggs in all of their stores and locally the full collection will be available at Lick the Spoon’s Cirencester shop or through local stockists.

Since starting their business in December 2006 Lick the Spoon have gained a reputation as one of the finest artisan chocolatiers in the UK. In 2010 they were named as the Best of Chocolate throughout the South-West at the Taste of the West awards and more recently were chosen by Dragon’s Den’s Theo Paphitis in his small business Sunday selection.
