Chocolate Workshops,
Courses and Parties in our Wiltshire Chocolate factory
We run several different Chocolate making
courses in our Corsham chocolate factory, designed to meet the needs
of everyone from school visits and hen parties to would-bechocolatiers.
The one thing that all our courses have in
common, is that you get to use all the professional equipment that
we use on a daily basis, and your chocolate creations will all be
made with our carefully selected, top quality single origin
couvertures.
You take home everything that you make!
You can book some of our courses online at the
bottom of this page.
For Schools and Parties please contact
us to discuss your dates.
School Workshop
Designed especially for large numbers at a
discounted rate for schools or colleges.
This course gives you the techniques and
know-how to make your own chocolates at home for gifts or fun. It is
both practical and informative and the ideal place to start if you
have no previous experience of working with chocolate.
This is a good follow on course from the
Introduction to Fine Chocolate for those wishing to improve their skills
and widen the range of chocolates they can make. This course also suits
those with some previous experience of chocolate such as pastry chefs or
caterers. The full time is spent “hands on” with fewer places
available to allow plenty of one-to-one time to perfect technique and
troubleshoot any potential problems.
This is a full-day, full-on course for anyone
who wishes to start up their own chocolate business or make
chocolates on a regular basis to sell to third parties. It is also
suitable for caterers or established food businesses wishing to add
chocolate to their offering.
The number of places per course is kept low to
allow plenty of time to ask questions and perfect techniques.
Diana demonstrates her skills on the Alan Titchmarsh show.
The Lick the Spoon team
'Lick the Spoon' are a multi-award winning Wiltshire chocolatier
that are now recognised as one of the finest Chocolatiers in the UK.
Founded three years ago by Diana Short, their 'One for Me, One
for You' chocolate collection was named as Best of Bakery and
Confectionery at the Taste of the West awards in their first year of
trading.
In 2008, 'Lick the Spoon' won the accolade of Wiltshire
Independent Food Producer of the Year and they were finalists in the
Waitrose 'Made in Britain' Awards, the only chocolatier to be
selected from over 200 national entries.
The originality and quality of Diana’s chocolate creations has
won over many fans, including Alan Titchmarsh who declared 'Lick the
Spoon' a National Treasure after an appearance and live
demonstration on his afternoon show, and Nigella Lawson who
recommended the stunning Mint Filigree Easter Egg as her personal
choice of 2009.
A new chocolate factory was purpose built in 2009 in Corsham,
Wiltshire after three years of running the business from home,
whilst caring for two children, now aged four and two.
Alongside Diana the team now includes Jamie, Master Chef
Professional Quarter finalist, and Kathryn, who was selected from a
multitude of candidates for her natural flair and passion for all
things food!
Late 2009 saw the opening of the first 'Lick the Spoon' shop in
the Cotswold town of Cirencester. Offering the full range of their
hand crafted chocolates along with luscious cakes and the very best
hot chocolate, it has proved a huge hit with locals and tourists
alike.
