As we get to the busy Christmas delivery season we’ve noticed that some DPD Local depots are choosing to deliver to a local shop after the first delivery attempt with a card through the door.
We therefore recommend that as soon as you receive your tracking email and DPD Local notification, please click through the tracking to see your parcel on DPD Local, and if you won’t be in either nominate a safe Place, Deliver to a neighbour, or local shop. It’s not sufficient to do this on our website in the order notes, as though we add this to delivery notes, DPD require you, the customer, to select where you want your parcel left, via their website. So sometimes they follow our instructions, sometimes they don’t.
We will of course always help you to track down your parcel which is why we use a fully tracked service. But if you are pro-active on your delivery by DPD and click through the tracking, you can hopefully ensure that your parcel is left where you want it!
