Sad News

Gist SupportUK

We have some sad news to share with you. Sadly our brave business placement student Eve Bressington passed away just before Easter. Eve had been part of our small team as part of a six month work placement from Aston University. Some of you may have seen Eve’s name feature on Facebook and Instagram as she took over our social media at the end of February before completing her placement.

Eve is one of the bravest people we’ve known, and despite living with a rare form of cancer (PAWS-GIST) she was determined to not only complete her Business degree but to help others. We tried to be a part of that journey. During her time with us Eve experienced life in a small business and very much became part of our team.

Eve campaigned Nationally for PAWS-GIST and can be seen in the centre of the photo above. The aim was “Improving treatment and finding the cure for rare GIST Cancers in Young People” and as part of this Eve frequently attended clinics not only as a patient, but as support and a mentor for others suffering this rare condition.

Eve was ever optimistic and always came to work with a broad beaming smile. We will very much miss her.

There is a Just – Giving page for PAWS-GIST and donations are welcome for this charity that continues to bring the best medical expertise worldwide together to help find a cure
